Résume | Fusion algebras (also known as Verlinde algebras) appear either in the representation theory of Kac-Moody Lie algebras, Hecke algebras or tilting modules for quantum groups, namely as Grothendieck rings of certain semisimple tensor categories. In this talk I want to give a very explicit description of this ring, together with a combinatorial construction and a description of its spectrum. This will then be connected with the quantum cohomology ring of Grassmannians for which combinatorial constructions are well-known. Our goal is to show that both sides have a nice interpretation in terms of an integrable model. Finally we describe their connection in terms of a ``Boson-Fermion correspondence''. |
