Résume | A contact manifold is a manifold equipped with a "maximally
non-integrable" hyperplane distribution (i.e. codimension one
subbundle of the tangent bundle). I will give a broad introduction
to Eliashberg--Givental--Hofer's theory of contact homology (an
invariant of contact manifolds), and some of its applications. No
previous knowledge of contact geometry will be assumed.
