| Résume | Hyperbolic polynomials are real homogeneous polynomials in several variables with a certain reality condition on their roots. They orginate in PDE theory but have more recently been studied extensively in combinatorics, convex optimization and real algebraic geometry. A lot of their theory can be thought of as generalising symmetric determinants. In this talk, I will give a gentle introdcution, survey several important results and point to some recent developments and open problems. |
