Séminaires : Séminaire des Thésards

Le séminaire des thésards est l'occasion pour les doctorants de présenter des résultats et des problématiques dignes d'intérêt devant un public de non-spécialistes. L'ambiance y est informelle ; poser des questions naïves est encouragé, et les questions moins naïves sont bienvenues dans la mesure où elles n'entravent pas le bon déroulement de l'exposé.

A sub riemannian structure on a manifold is a family of vector fields that does not generate the whole tangent space, but whose flows still "go in all the directions". When studying hypoelliptic properties of certain differential operators (for example the so called Hörmander sums of squares), finding an appropriate sub riemannian structure allows the use of powerful analytical tools that strongly rely on the geometric structure. In this talk, I will first explain the sub riemannian formalism. Then, I will briefly present the question of hypoellipticity of differential operators. Finally, I will present a semi-classical deformation producing a non commutative symbol, allowing to investigate hypoelliptic properties.
