Recent work of Ollivier-Schneider shows that the pro-$p$-Iwahori-Hecke $\bar\mathbbF_p$-algebra of a split $p$-adic reductive group $G$ has infinite global dimension (at least generically). We will review some of these results, and show that when $G$ has small rank, the simple modules of infinite projective dimension are precisely the supersingular ones.
