RésumeI will briefly explain tropical varieties, and certain currents attached to them, so-called tropical currents. I will address extremality, intersection theory, and approximation problems of tropical currents. I will discuss how in joint work with June Huh, we constructed an example of a ”non-approximable” current, which, in turn, refutes a stronger version of the Hodge conjecture.
