Titre  ALC manifolds with exceptional holonomy

Résume  I will describe the construction of infinitely many complete noncompact G2manifolds from small resolutions of CalabiYau cones and forthcoming work on the construction of infinitely many complete noncompact Spin(7)manifolds from selfdual Einstein 4orbifolds. Prior to these constructions there was only a handful of known examples of complete noncompact manifolds with G2 and Spin(7) holonomy. All the examples we produce have an asymptotic geometry (socalled ALC geometry) that generalises to 7 and 8 dimensions the geometry of 4dimensional ALF hyperkähler metrics. The examples are produced by the study of the adiabatic limit of metrics with exceptional holonomy on principal circle bundles/Seifert fibrations over asymptotically conical manifolds/orbifolds.
