Résume | Initiated in 1770, Waring’s problem concerns how many ways a positive integer can be represented as a sum of powers. Using breakthrough work of Bourgain-Demeter-Guth and Wooley we can study this problem in considerable generality and apply it to study Campana points on certain higher-dimensional orbifolds. These points acts as a kind of bridge between the theory of rational and integral points on algebraic varieties. This is joint work with Shuntaro Yamagishi. |
