The talk discusses work in progress (with Henri Darmon) onthe study of an analogue of the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecturefor theMazur-Tate circle pairing attached to a modular elliptic curve. Thisworkrelates the circle pairing to a generalized period integral of thecusp formassociated to the elliptic curve.
