| Résume | In this pair of talks I willgive an overview/survey of what one hopes to prove about the generatingseries associated to special arithmetic cycles in the Shimura varietiesdefined by unitary groups. Much of this is a longstanding joint projectwith Michael Rapoport. In addition, there is a lot of recent work bymany people, including Ulrich Terstiege, Ben Howard, YiFeng Liu andothers.
