| Résume | We'll explain how to "translate" between a class of algebra problems (solving equations in graded spaces) and an equivalent class of problems in topology (finding well-behaved universal finite type invariants). We'll focus on a recent example of equivalent problems: the Kashiwara–Vergne problem, and universal finite type invariants for certain welded tangles, which are four-dimensional knotted objects. Joint work with Dror Bar-Natan. |
