| Résume | The Gauss map of a surface in R4 takes its values in the grassmannian G+(2, 4) - isometric to S2(1/ √2) × S2(1/ √2) . We show if the Gauss map image of a minimal surface is of area less than π when pro- jected on each sphere, then the surface is stable for deformations with fixed boundary. This extends to minimal surfaces in R4 of any genus a result of Barbosa and do Carmo, (see also Hoffman Osserman). |
