Résume | In this talk, I will discuss a recent work, joint with Barbasch, Ma and Sun, in which we construct and classify all special unipotent representations of a real classical group (including the real metaplectic group), in the sense of Arthur and Barbasch-Vogan. I will explain the key ingredientsof this classification: counting by coherent families (combinatorial aspect), construction by theta lifting (analytic aspect), and distinguishing by invariants (algebraic-geometric aspect), with unitarity as a direct consequence. For quasi-split classical groups, the unitarity is independently due to Adams, Arancibia Robert and Mezo, through the endoscopic classification of Arthur and Mok. |
