Soergel in 1990 constructed an algebra isomorphism from the cohomology of flag variety to the center of the principal block of BGG category O, which was the starting point of the Koszul duality established later by Beilinson—Ginzburg—Soergel. In this talk, we introduce the hybrid quantum group, whose category O is a quantum analogue of the BGG category O. We show that the center of its principal block is isomorphic to the cohomology of affine flag variety. If time permitted, a deformed version of this result and some recent progress will be discussed.
